Creating a .p12 file from a .cer file in Keychain Access

Oct 10, 2010 1:33 AM

I am having trouble exporting my .cer file from apple to a .p12 file in Keychain Access, I can only export it as a .p7b. Does anyone know how I can solve the problem?

I don't have my mac here so I can't verify, but you're not supposed to export the certificate itself, but the key that contains the certificate. Follow the instructions exactly, it'll work.

    Hey Godske,

Locate the the valid developer certificate in Keychain Access from your My Certificates section.  Once you see your certificate listed in the window, click on the arrow to drop down and show your private key associated with that certificate.  Right-click and select Export.  Once the dialog box comes up, it should default to .p12 extension.  If not, just change it to .p12.

    Hope that works for you!

I Installed them by going to import items on keychain access.?
