Can I have my existing FB and a Burrito release installed side by side on Mac and choose which one to use? Or does Burrito override existing installation?
You should be able to select where you want Burrito to install and run it side by side with the released version of Flash Builder. This shouldn't be a problem. If it is, please let us know.
Also, be sure to use a new workspace with Burrito.
Flex SDK QE
You could have both FB4 release and Burrito Preview release installed side-by-side.
Burrito by default extracts in a separate folder(not the one Fb4 creates) and also it creates a brand new workspace.
I don’t think it is even required to rename anything while installing Burrito.
Can you confirm your last statement " Because right now it uses the same by default as original FB " again? as I believe it should not be the case.
Yes, the screen looks exactly the same but it creates a new folder called 'Adobe Flash Builder Burrito' under Applications.
Hence it would not over-ride your existing FB4 installation.
Please confirm the same
Ok it does intall in a different directory and I can run both, side by side. However it overrode my Debug Flash Player, so in the previous FB when I run my apps I always get that message that it is not the correct version of debug player. Annoying.
Yep, everything regarding Flash Player is screwed up now. How can I revert to previous version of player to be used within FB because I can't work like this. I always get that dialog and when I chose YES, then I get build queues that don't go away.
You can obtain previous versions of the Debug Player here:
There's a link on that same page to the player uninstaller, and you'll probably need to run that first. For example, if you're on Snow Leopard, you can use the uninstaller here:
After uninstalling the new player, if you want to install the same debug player version that shipped with your installed copy of FB 4.0.1, you can find that in your installed FB4 folder here: /player/mac/Install Flash Player 10 UB.dmg
I'm curious about the error you're seeing with Debug Player 10.1 installed - will you explain more about what context you're seeing that in, and perhaps post a screenshot?
Ok, what happened is that when I debug with NO html wrapper, I have to click YES every time but the thing works, I can hit break points and all. If I debug with html wrapper, then I can't hit breakpoints, the html page spawns, but the build never completes.
Wouldn't it be easier for us to have an option of having multiple versions of players with the IDE? I remember there were always these issues, imagine distributed teams working on various projects, each project started with different player. Flipping through them and having them side by side would also ease the testing.
