I am preparting to install CS5 "Upgrade". In Adobe folder, CS4 programs are sitting there.
I do not want to instal CS5 programs in the same Adobe folder. So I plan to uninstall CS4.
Should I deactivate CS4 prior to its uninstallation? I assume that if CS4 is deactivated, I might encounter a problem with installing CS5 Upgrade.
Please comment. hummer
Use the Adobe Cleaner Tool to clean up your registry entries

Yes deactivate CS4 prior to install. Check this thread for more info.
Good Luck !
You don't need to uninstall or deactivate CS4 before installing CS5. The installer will make a separate folder. The two versions can live comfortably side by side, and you very well may regret dumping the older version if something in CS5 does not work as you expected and need to go back to CS4 for specific tasks.
>Yes deactivate CS4 prior to install. Check this
Yesterday, I deactivated CS4 and installed CS5 Master Collection with Acrobat.
This time, all were successfully installed.
When I checked Help file, I see "deactivate" menu.
I understood that "deactivate" means my CS5 is now activated and registered with Adobe.
Is that correct? Hummer
Even after activation you will have to register by creating Adobe ID as a new user wherin u have to furnish your datals and then enter Products for registration.Once the serial Number is regd aganist ur name your licence will be your asset and is again resaleble and Adobe will incorporate the transfer oflicence.
