I have downloaded and customized several Widgets from the Widget Browser. When I open a page within my site, I go to Insert ->
Widget and nothing happens. Also, when I go to the "Insert" group, select "Common" and click Widget, still nothing. Does anyone have any thoughts on this problem? On the inset menu, there is no option to expand the menu item. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Tim
When you click on Widget... in the menu item or the Widget icon in the Insert bar a dialog should be displayed with a pull down menu to select the Widgets you added to My Widgets and the Presets for each widget. Can you try the following
1.Quit Widget Browser
2. Back up the WidgetBrowser folder located in your users AppData folder rename it to WidgetBrowser_backup
On my machine it is located here:
C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\WidgetBrowser
3. Start Widget Browser, add a Widget to My Widgets
4. Launch Dw
5. Try to insert a Widget
Let us know if that works,
Thanks,

Scott,
Thanks for the reply. I did exactly as you requested. I renamed:
C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\WidgetBrowser
to
C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\WidgetBrowser_backup
Opened the Widget Browser, installed and acceptd the license agreements for three widgets, and minimized (did not close) the widget browser.
I then open DW CS5, created a new, blank page, and tried to "Insert" a widget. Unfortunately, I got the same result. Nothing happens, no prompts to install a widget, no option to choose which preset. Just nothing. Insert screen shots for your review.
Do you have any further advice?
Thanks in advance!
Tim
We worked with Tim, offline to resolve this problem. He re-installed Dreamweaver CS5 and then he was able to insert Widgets. If anyone else is running into this problem there could be another source of the problem that you should try before re-installing. Make sure that you have the option in the General preferences to "Show Dialog when Inserting Objects" CHECKED. If it is not checked you will see the same behavior, no Dialog will be displayed when you try and insert a Widget (we need to fix this). Here is the Preferences item in red for reference.
