    Hi,

couple of weeks ago I ask allways the same question (see link below) with no reaktion. I have also contacted Jeffrey Friedl, but  because auf time problems he is not able (or willing) to share or sell his solution.

If I had a wish free I would like to have an donation button which generates a paypal donation and uses the transaction-id as an licenece key. In first place it is stored in plug-in's database and additionaly it is stored on a server (for recovery/comparision purposes)

For payments and shopping cart, I use Paypal and the shopping-cart provider e-junkie.com.  I don't know if this is the best solution, but I had already set it up for another unrelated activity so it was easy to use for my plugin activities.

I use Paypal micropayments ($0.05/transaction + 5%), which is better than the standard rate ($0.30/transaction + 2.9%) for transactions under $12.

I use the e-junk.com basic shopping cart, which is $5/month.  I could have programmed my own minimal shopping-cart services (letting the user name a price, confirming the purchase, sending an email with the registration key) using Paypal's API, but I already had e-junkie.com set up for another activity, so it was much easier to use it.

Also, Digital River's SWREG service offers a license-key generation interface, but their transaction fees are higher.

(As I send previously, I haven't researched this in depth, so I have no idea if there are better on-the-cheap, little-programming options.)

    Two questions:

    - Is e-junk generating provable serial numbers?

    - Are donations possible via e-junk?

With e-junkie.com, you have to provide your own license keys.  You can set up donation pricing with a minimum and a suggested price -- the shopping cart starts with the suggested price and the buyer can change it.

Both Swreg and e-junkie.com let you plug in your own license-key generator via  URL you provide, and they also let you provide a file of thousands of pre-generated license keys, which they will mail out in the confirmation email.
