Issues with the SWF output.

Oct 24, 2010 4:20 AM

Hi,

Tried creating my first rome swf content by choosing the "flower shop" template, modified the text content presented in that. After saving the same in my drive, I tried publishing it as "SWF" by choosing "Flash" through "Output -> Flash (.swf)", but while testing that in my google chrome, It was just showing me the loader animation and I couldn't able to get the content after that.

Here is my environment,

Microsoft Windows Vista Professional.

Flash Player 10.1

Thanks.

I was glad to find your post as I am having the same problem. At least now I know I can get it to work by not allowing the loader file.

    Hello,

I've spoken with our development team, and they said the loader file is meant for upload onto a server.

    Thanks,

    Sarah

I attempted uploading the SWF file with the preloader option to my web host and I still have the same issue.  The loader circle shows, but the content never loads.

I wonder if its specific to ROME - because I assume that ROME service will also be hosting - so maybe the preloader is specific to their server.

Thanks Daverms for pointing out the Write Loader File SWF output option problem! Definately needs to be addressed.

Just a few more details on the preloader. Can confirm it works fine when uploaded to a webserver attached to a bigger .swf, but just not when run locally.

Yeah, but it took an incredibly long time to load for so little output. It took over a minute.

I think the pre-loader still needs some tweaking before I would use it.

True, but for this test link I used a very big embedded image (800+kb) in the SWF file to show that the loader file was indeed working. It was meant to take a long time
