Is it possible to send the TV channel feed by using live encoder??

Hi all,

 

I am planning to stream one of my favorite TV channel on my web.I got permissions too to stream on my page,but whats my doubt is..

 

1)How to send feed to my server from  TV channel  by using live encoder?

 

2)I think third party tool should be use for converting the TV signals into digital is it right??

 

Please give me proper inputs or procedure for streaming TV channel into webcasting

 

As iam very new to this concept plz excuse me if any thing sounds wrong.......

    If you have a settop box which can give uncompressed Video signals(not in MPEG2/MPEG4 format), can give Video in Compsite/Component channels and Audio in Unbalanced channels then you can give these signals to any of Viewcast cards which are certified to be used with FMLE like Osprey 560, 530,240,450e etc.

    As i understood from your reply..

     

    I need settop box for channel signal. - Can i use TV tunner to get the channel signals?

     

    It seems the cards(Viewcast cards) what you mentioned are little bit costly for me to purchase. - is there any cards related to that is available in resonable price?

     

    1) Can you please explain What is the use of the cards ?

     

    3) FME can not recogonize the TV tunner signals directly to send the feeds to server?

     

    Please let me know indetail

     

    I will great help ful to you if you mention any tutorial links or articals on this concept

    you can take any capture card that can accept Video in RAW format(Uncompressed Video). it is required to convert analog TV signal from a settop box in Digital signal that computer can take.

     

    you can use TV tuner capture card but that card should also give Video signal in RAW Uncompressed Audio and Video format. in this case you will not require any another capture card. i guess Hauppauge and Pinnacle has some variety of cards but please make sure that they can give output in RAW Uncompressed format.

    Hi Malhotra,

     

    I enquired with few delars regarding to TV tunners, here (in my city) i can get the Pinnacle Tunners only but whats the problem is they are not confirmed about my requirements, i gone thought some websits also..still i am in confuse in selecting the particular version which reach my requirements.

     

    Can you please help me to choose the particular tunner among various versions

    best solution for you is to get any Set Top Box like Tata Sky, Airtel.

    These  set top box will give you Unbalanced Audio and Video format ports  somewhat similar to DVD players (Red, White and Yellow/RCA) port.

     

    Using these ports you can give the Set top box signal to any analog capture card.

     

    FMLE is tested with Viewcast cards. you can get its details from

    Osprey 100 is on cheaper side and is tested with FMLE

    Hi Malhotra

     

    Thank you very much for your response.

     

    As availability of brands in our locality i can get Pinnacle easy then other brands.

     

    I will try to contact with view cast support people for getting details to get the Osprey 100.

     

    I observed from the below link that Pinnacle PCTV Pro PCI is one of the supporting card for encoding by using FME

    is it (Pinnacle PCTV Pro PCI) suitable for streaming with FME? if yes then i can go with this version with out any confusions other wise i will put focus to buy the Osprey

    We have observed issues in that card which lead to audio and Video out of sync after few hours.

    This card is certified from FMLE side but drivers had issues. So i will not recommend that card. Dont know about their updated drivers but at that moment of time they Pinnacle has said specifically that their cards are meant to be work with their own softare. they dont guarantee its working with any other software.

    How are you taking the TV feed? Are you using a Set-top box? If yes, then STB must be having analog outputs (RCA/composite, s-video). Simply, get a capture card that has same (composite/s-video) inputs and connect the cable from your STB to that card installed on the machine running FMLE.

    Hi guys,

     

    First of all sorry for very late reply,

     

    Finally i am able to send the TV channel signals by using live encoder. It works good with small problems .

     

    problems:

     

    1) In player after connect to server the screen( channel screen) is not exactly showing that means bottom 1/4 portion is cut off. Is there any setting to avoid this problem??

     

    2) After connect to server, on client machine the video is not running smoothly,it breaks upto 2 sec then skip that portion and then continue...it is continuing like this for every 5min

     

    3) On FMLE the input and output panel showing with high color quality but once it send to server(even local server also) on web casting  it delivers very poor quality

    is there any setting to solve this problem?

     

    4)Last question (but not final one) i played  all these games on my local machine (with static IP) for testing purpose, i planning to take dedicated server in order to webcast my client channel for public. Please give me some suggestions which one i can prefer in the sense bandwidth,speed,RAM..etc so that i can make my client satisfy by avoiding all problems mentioned above..
