best place to learn scripting

I just read adobe intro to scripting. I have some background in DOM scripting and plan on reading the JS reference next. would anyone suggest a different or have good places to check out for introduction scripting stuff? how did you learn scripting?

    Hi,  There are various manuals available on net to learn scripting, you can opt anyone of these which you think is more easy for you to use and learn. But what matters more is the practice, along with manuals do search for some script codes so that you get more exposure in how people are doing it and will help you a lot.  Cheers,  ~Maneet
