I've successfully been layering multiple copies of the same clip to produce some interesting visuals.
With 1 section only the layering produces a flashing image, as if brightness/contrast levels are varying.
My first thought was that they were slightly out of time, so I duplicated the top layer, got rid of the bottom one (there are only two). Then pasted in the copy and applied the old settings from the previous layer, but.. still got the flashing.
Now I've used this effect on all surrounding footage, which was filmed in the same location, and there's no problem.
What would cause this to happen?
Plz bear in mind this occurs on only one of multiple clips and they all use these effects
My guess would be Brightness & Contrast.
Is that set to Automatic? If so, that is likely your problem.
Check all of your Effects settings, and disable ANY Auto functions. They WILL likely cause strobing, or pulsing.
B/C. Brightness/Contrast yes.
Thx Bill I did try doing that already.
It was the ProcAmp on the top layer. What I don't understand is.. given that it worked on the dozen or so layers in the sequence before this one why would it now start flashing?
The only explanation I could think of was that one was slightly out of time, but this wasn't the case.
Any1 know of anything else that could cause this.
I don't think it's an effect conflict as it works perfectly fine on all clips before and after this one, with exactly the same settings.
Oh, and there is know flashing from lighting or weather on original.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I'm at a loss to explain that. I have used ProcAmp a few times, but in those instances, have not noticed any issues. My experiences were probably like your Clips, where it worked fine, and just never hit the "bad" combo.
Maybe others will have some ideas, or suggestions.
