Explorer 8, Windows XP
When I access a video it says I don't have version 10 etc. I have
installed version 10 and I find it under my programs.
I will have to respond to the third question tomorrow. Thank you for your
help. I can tell you I haven't cleared temp internet files. That is on the
list to do.

You need to give me the exact message you are getting.
Also check Internet Explorer | Tools | Add-ons if Shockwave Flash Object is enabled.

I'm having the same problem, when I try to see a youtube video, it says "you need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video". When I click on "download it now", Adobe says I already have it installed.
I too have Windows XP and using Windows Internet Explorer 8 browser.

Go to add-remove programs in the control panel and verify that the latest version of adobe flash player is installed. IF not try removing any adobe flash player version in the add remove applet in the control panel and re downloading / reinstalling the flash player.
