I'm interested in knowing about coding for my "print" stylesheet. I would like to print from our database online pages that include headers, footers, page breaks and content boxes that would link overflow copy from one "text box" to another like we do with InDesign in the print world.
We have to print legal pleadings and letters from our dynamic data mixed with static data in our online db. I would like to control how those pages print, whether we print to PDF or desktop.
Thanks for your insights and any direction you can point me.
To print sheet from web sites you must:
- put some control in the admin panel where call the action to print, but linking with a clean css ex. if you site have background the css print must have white o none.
You can read this article:
With PHP, you can generate server-side PDFs. See links below:
Thanks to both of your responses. The articles are definitely helpful but not really the direction I'm needing. I need to have repeating regions on pages like headers, footers and side divs that hold pleading text or image for legal printing.
for those complex printing works you also need to use PHP and FPDF. If you are no PHP coder, search for a good one first, you'll need it. It's not possible to describe all steps you have to do, to print pages with all your needs here.
