Homesite Resource Windows Not Locked To Window... Help?

Dec 21, 2010 7:13 AM

Hi.  I am using my Homesite+ editor at work today and something happened that caused a bunch of errors in pop-up windows.  So I closed out the windows, and restarted my Homesite+.  Now I can't see my Resource Windows. That's what I believe they're called, the boxes to the left on the editor that contain my FTP connections to all my folders and files.  Now I know someone one here will tell me to go to View menu -> Resource Windows -> Choose Files 1 (primary) or Files 2 (secondary). Don't. Because I already did that and it doesn't work. Technically it brings up the folders in a pop-up... but I cannot see the files and I cannot lock it back down to the editor where it was before. No, I cannot reload Homesite+ either, because I don't have rights to do that. Help?

This works for HS 5.5 (not plus) but might still work for you.

Right-click in the files area of the Files1 and Files2 popup windows. You should see a menu item 'Move Files1 to...' > Selcet Left or Right. The window should new be docked. Repeat for the other windows.

If this doesn't work, or you can't see the 'files' area of those popups the only other way I know is to edit the registry (if you have admin rights and feel happy doing it). You'll need to go to HCU\Software\Macromedia\HomeSite*\Docking\specificWindowKey and change the value of the DockTab key from 1 to 0 (or vice versa - I can't remember which way round it is for docked - but it should be obvious).
