Lost my latest script updates after running Story from another computer

Jan 23, 2011 8:14 PM

I created a blank AV script on my Mac version of Adobe Story filling in some basic ideas for a script.

I then worked remotely on the same AV script for several hours on a Windows 7 laptop, saving as many times as I could remember.

After a few hours, I logged into Adobe Story on my Mac and only my basic script was there.

I then checked my laptop to see if I could open the work I did, but it only showed the basic AV script.

Is there any way for me to recover this lost work?  I spent hours on it and need it for a presenation soon.

Please help.

    Hi,

Open the document and go to View->History. A panel would appear showing the various versions of that document. You can look at your previous versions of documents here.

    Hope this helps.

Maybe the document was open in an unsaved state on the other computer. When you re-logged in, it called for saving this document on the server. The server saw that the document is being saved from a different session and created a version of previous document before overriding the data. Hence, your old version was present in the history.

Although there's a mechanism to auto-save documents after some time, still I would suggest to always save the document before starting to work on it from a different machine.

    Cheers
