Can someone please help me....Ive been trying numerous times to sign in to the widget browser and everytime it says the login attempt has signed out and a yellow bar is at the top saying failed getting widget feed......Does anybody know how i can fix this
Sorry you are having problems with the Widget Browser.
Is it failing to display the feed of widgets from the adobe exchange, or is it failing when you try and login with the ID you created on the adobe Exchange https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/membership.
Can you tell us exactly what the dialog says when it fails? A screen shot would be great. Are you able to connect and login to the exchange through your web browser?
How long does it take before the connection times out, is it on the order of 30 seconds or shorter? What kind of network connection do you have and from where in the world are you connecting?
Are you connecting through a proxy server? Do you have any firewall settings enabled that you could try to disable?
Are you Mac or Windows? Which OS? Which version of AIR runtime do you have installed?
Can you try clearing your flash cache to do that go to this page:
Select delete all web sites www.adobe.com
It is doign both. Not displaying the widgets and not allowing me to log in.
When I log in it says that the logout attempt has timed out. and when on the
main page it says that it can not get the feed for the widgets
Are you able to access the Exchange from your web browser at www.adobe.com/exchange login and download Extensions?
If that works can you try seeing if you can get the widget rss feed by entering the following in your browser
You should see a list of widgets with descriptions in your browser.
Do you have the "Stay Signed In" checked in the "Sign In" Dialog? To clear that click "Sign Out".
To help use troubleshoot can you provide the following info:
Mac or Windows? Version of OS? Version of Widget Browser? Look in bottom left pane of Widget Browser Version 1.0 Build ###. What version of AIR you are using?
How long does it take when the Exchange feed is not displayed? Can you send a snapshot of the dialog when the login fails? How long does that take before you get the login attempt has timed out?
Do you have a proxy server of firewall setup? If so can you temporarily disable them.
Can you send me (privately) your login name and time / time zone of failed login attempt to srichards(at)adobe.com
I had the same problem for the last few days since I got CS5 Web Premium...
I just figured it out! You need to go to your default browser, (and probably any other browsers that may end up as your default browser) and enable cookies. THAT'S ALL. Simple, isn't it? If you have safari like I do, it's default is 'accept cookies from websites I visit" or something like that. Accept cookies: ALWAYS.
There you have it. I hope it works for you like it did for me. If so, have fun with your widgets, I sure will now. Phew!
