pdf 417 barcode

Created a form template using livecyle designer with a pdf 417 barcode. The form is created using acrofields in a C# program with an xml data file as the data source. All the text fields are created okay but the barcode is not displayed when the form is created. Why doesn't the barcode display. I've opened the form in adobe acrobat 9 and reader 9 and it doesn't display in either.  thanks, Ben

    Are you using the PDF417 barcode object or the Paper Forms Barcode object configured for PDF417?

    Hi Steve,

     

    Thanks for your reply - I'm using the PDF417 barcode - The form does not need to be interactive where a user enters any data - the data is coming from an xml file - all the text fields populate okay when using acrofields in my C# program except for the PDF 417barcode - the text to merge with barcode appears on the form but there is no barcode displayed.

    I tried switching to paperforms barcode but the

    barcode fields remain empty. Are barcode reader

    extensions required to make the barcodes visible?
