is internationalization possible ?

Hi,

 

Does anyone know if i18n is possible with iphone packager ? i mean not only for the app description in app.xml file, but for texts inside the application

i'd like to deploy my app in gernman app store (->german texts) and in us app store (->english texts)

or do i have to create 2 different apps for that ?

    after you compile your app

    when you uncompress your app on mac

    in the folder payload

    there is a plist file that you can add all your international text.  you would modify that file

    then compress the payload folder for uploading.

    Your answer makes me think to a similar solution : in iOS settings, just add the language xml files you need (as resources), and it should work nicely.

    (i don't think flash can handle the plist files as a language-specific file)

    I'm hoping to do this too, but I am unclear how you get your Flash file to detect the locale and adjust the in-app text accordingly.

    Actually there's a built-in support for i18n in flash, just open Strings panel (ctrl+f11) and set all different languages here. The files generated are XML files which need to be included in your app.Look at Locale and Capabilities API in as3 then to deal with texts in runtime.
