I need your help, I've been working on a sript for weeks, and thought I was online, I noticed it said offline, so I clicked work online. I saw no errors but it just went back to the beginning of the script and I have no Idea how to find some of the saved offline version on my comp. Before I uninstall anything, I need to find my long hard work whick is obviously where ever the Offline documents are saved, Can you tell me where to find them, or how to recover the last saved offline document.
Hey,
We do save history of all the documents in your account. You can access the older versions saved for your document via the View menu in Authoring view. There's an option "History...", clicking on it opens a "history panel" below where you can see all the versions of your document saved till date. Double click to access any version and if you wish to make any of the versions your active version, you may click on the "Make Latest" tab on the right upper corner of the document in editor. Ther's a whole bunch of features around history/ versioning. To know more about it you may have a look at the help document: "About Story Help (F1)" in "Help" menu options that is available in the topmost bar. In case of any further queries do get back to us, we would be more than happy to help. We highly value your work and your feedbacks too. ![]()
Regards,
Adobe Story Team.
I'm looking in the View Menu in Authoring mode, and I don't see any choice about History. I'm wondering if I have an earlier version of story. Please send me a link of how to download the latest. I've been trying and it keeps asking me to sign up, and then tells me that I already have. Bottomline I need the latest Story to avoid that updating error about misconfiguration, and I'm stuck with my script till I can find so much of my lost work. It's showing me the green dot in project mode, but I did a lot more work than where it is now, and I was saving every step of the way. Can you relax my worrying mind and let me know all my data is recoverable even if the software is outdated. And certain configurations weren't updated.
hi,
you can download latest version of story from https://story.adobe.com.
but before that please login from web browser into story and see if you can see previous versions.
for more info about how history works, see this video tutorial: http://blogs.adobe.com/preran/files/2010/11/history_demo.swf

[ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Unhandled exception Error: Illegal values for configuration/defaultUI" errorID=16814] Could you please tell me how to go around that
error. it happens when I try to update the software. What is the absolute solution to having the latest version of Story. Because the version i'm using doesn't have things that i'm seeing in the History tutorial. I don't have and Document preferences under my File menu. If I uninstall story, will the work I'm looking for also be gone. I just need this to work ASAP so I can get back to the script while I'm still inspired, this will be a big one.
Well I've managed to make significant progress, in updating my Story, but the history is showing 3 documents none of which is the many countless hours worth of working and SAVING. How is it possible that something i saved so many times is just nowhere all of a sudden. I've given up and is about to rewrite. I hate the thought of it. But it must be an Offlne/Online glitch. if anyone has any ideas that I might be able to find one of those saved history on my system, being that I did the work offline. I'd be glad for your help. Just tell me the folder it saves it in offline mode. If I don't find it there. Then I know to truly give up and find a new inspiration to rewrite.
I'm literally stuck waiting right now, My number is 1-876-309-2051 if there's a number to call you I'd be doin it instead of typing this. Leave one in your next reply. I really would hate to have to rewrite, and need to know if there's anyway to prevent that frustration. And I'll be available anytime to call, but the sooner the better I need to continue while I have the inspiration to progress the script.

I can't seem to post, I keep getting an error message but this post is relevant to my question:
I tend to work offline a lot, and so, after updating Adobe Story and accessing a bible I wrote for one of my projects, all of the scripts are blank -- not only that, the save dates are in January, well before I even had the program and waaay before I started writing this script. I constantly save, so I do not understand why this happened?
The bible was extensive, with character bios, scenarios, sets, etc. Occasionally I did go online and synch it to the server but for some reason even the server is shooting back a blank file.
Anyone know why?
Can you find the bible when you use the application online at http://story.adobe.com/ instead of using the AIR application?
