adding Preview for custom File-Formats?

Hi All,

Could someone please tell me whether it is generally possible for 3rd party programmers to add both 2D and 3D-Preview to Bridge of currently unsupported File Formats? I'd be very interested to see preview more 3D-formats - even if Photoshop can not handle them directly.I see that there's an SDK - are such optinons exposed here?  Thanks!
