AI CS4 - Multiple page PDF

Apr 7, 2011 6:55 AM

I just upgraded to CS4 and can no longer figure out how to create a multi-page pdf from Illustrator.  The option has either been removed or moved from the pdf save menu.

I'm currently saving down to CS3, and  opening again in CS4 to create legacy artboards which then translate into multi pages in acrobat.  I'm sure there is an easier/more efficient way.  Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Each artboard in CS4 equals a PDF page. Simply Save as PDF and be certain the "Use Artboards" option is checked.

You want to create your documents with artboards for multiple page PDFs. By legacy artboards, you must mean you are currently set up with tiling pages.

Open your document in CS4, you will get a screen like this

You will get a prompt like this, enable the check by page Page Tiles, and click ok.

If you ahve rectangles defining pages, just select the rectangles and choose Edit > Arboards > Convert to Artboards. Drawing rectangles and converting them to artboards in one step is often faster.
