Please check http://www.adobe.com/products/flashaccess/ for comprehensive information of Flas Access.
Adobe® Flash® Access® software is a robust content protection and monetization solution that lets content owners, distributors, and advertisers realize new sources of revenue by providing seamless access to premium content. Flash Access supports a wide range of business models, including video on demand, rental and electronic sell-through. Enterprises can also use Flash Access to protect the integrity and privacy of their training or announcements delivered via video. You can distribute content protected with Flash Access by streaming through Adobe Flash Media Server software, our new HTTP Dynamic Streaming, progressive download, or permitting downloads to a content library for local playback at the consumer's convenience on multiple screens.
i'm not so sure there's much Adobe can respond to beyond what their marketing material already says.
They offer a variety of products to meet different business needs.
RTMPe offers a layer of stream protection very loosely analogous to SSL.
SWF verification offers a level of play back restriction.
FAXS offers a high grade content encryption with restricted playback rules.
These are all somewhat different products that meet different needs.
What exactly are the customer needs?
As FAXS uses a more secure runtime that is embedded into the standard Flash Runtime, the security is higher than simple RTMPe.
FAXS meets these levels and is one of the typical four approved by such organizations. RTMPe is not.
In addition to what's in the marketing materials for Flash Access, Flash Access utilizes numerous configurable constraints and restrictions (playback rules) in the licenses vended to clients. This will enable many more business models than what's available via RTMPe. Further information can be found here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashaccess/2.0/usage_rules.pdf.
