CS5.5 & External Monitoring - is there anything new?

System requirements says:
"OHCI-compatible IEEE 1394 port for DV and HDV capture,
export to tape, and transmit to DV device"

Does "transmit to DV device" mean Hardware MPE output to DV device?

 

Or, is this post still the "official" Adobe solution for external monitoring
without using third-party hardware and sequence presets?
