Hello Photoshoppers:
I don't very often get called upon to make application icons but I need to now and my DIY efforts are pitiful. My image looks great as a PSD, but what I am saving out (as 48x48, 32x32 and 16x16 .ico files) doesn't preserve the transparency and looks hideous.
Can anyone recommended a good plug in for making icons from Photoshop CS5 for Windows XP and/or Windows 7? My searches produced only old and Mac only results, which makes me wonder if perhaps there is something built in that I just can't figure out.
Thanks for any suggestions
Anna

uhm, did you google "iconbuilder for windows" ?
Yes. I looked at a few of them and they were all either old Photoshop versions or for Mac only. Iconbuilder shows a demo of CS2. I assumed it was pretty old if they hadn't updated their demo since then.
Since your response, I Googled Iconbuilder FOR WINDOWS and did get better results. I'll try that. Thanks.
There's a free (donationware) plug-in that can be used to save files in .ico format... It doesn't give you the direct ability to create sets, but I think the author offers an alternate piece of software for doing that.
