The original posting (see under Stuff) appears to be genuine, and the replies may be some funny dysfunction of forum access through email; the user seems quite unaware of the (sometimes double) postings.

I have to agree - MTSTUNER is no spammer. Only thing I could think is if spam really is showing up under his name, maybe his account has been compromised?

Kami,

There must be an error, with one profile. MTSTUNER is a trusted, and valued contributor, especailly in the PS forum. My guess is that you accidentally clicked on the wrong profile, or Reply.

I am sorry, but as I do not frequent the Photoshop forum, I was unaware of this. I fully apologize for having in error reported this profile. I cannot go back in time to see why I reported this person, but as you are not the only one to have questioned this, I assume I must have made an error.

This poster has responded to both recent and ancient threads, in a variety of types of software, and in a variety of languages.

Several of their successive posts are separated by only a minute or two. It seems unlikely that a human could review and respond to these varied topics so quickly.

There's no commercial intent behind their posts so we're not looking at blatant spam ...but it this some kind of a well-done Turing test?

Possibly setting up an account for a future spamathon?

Perhaps they searched for "thanks", "solved", etc. and added their own similar comment, in an attempt not to be noticed. Crafty!

It can happen quite easily. This this AM, I had accidentally clicked on the Profile below the one I wanted, and had already done the Ctrl+C, when I noticed my mistake.

That would seem to remove the incentive to spam there, at least with the intent of Search Engine Optimization.
