Extract audio from CD

Apr 26, 2011 9:52 AM

Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

3GB memory

Mac OS X 10.6.7

Factory CD/DVD drive.

I have used Audition for PC since version 1.0 and now have latest version. There is a lot that I like about the Mac beta but have noticed that extracting audio from a standard CD is at least 5x faster on the PC version. The Mac beta version is painfully slow in that regard. I am not extracting from a copy protected CD. These are self created CD's - Taiyo Yuden brand. Thanks in advance for any comments. - Dave

The CD ripping in Audition CS5.5 will have been improved since the public beta.

I believe what you're doing is it is coming in from OSX where it "tells" applications that the CD tracks are AIFF files (when they're really not).

When you download the trial version of CS5.5 when it is released, let us know if that helped.
