Very excited that we're close to release, but I need to know whether a couple specific requests made it in. My #1 must-haves are clip grouping and Tranzport support, for example. Will there be some kind of finalized list posted here?
I believe my colleague, Durin, has been discussing some related things on the main Audition forum (http://forums.adobe.com/community/audition).
Specifically, in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/838570?tstart=0
I've also heard that there will be a user-created comparison that will probably be on the AudioMasters Forum: http://www.audiomastersforum.net/amforum/index.php
Some people have been just going through the helpfile at this point: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/audition/cs/using/index.html
Yep, I did plough through that thread but it wasn't clear to me that Adobe mods were updating every topic based on current implementation. Silly me, I was hoping for a consolidated list somewhere.
If you're right that these are not implemented, it is a great disappointment. The mods said quite a while ago that the group clips item was very high on the list, and there is certainly a loud contingent here plugging for it.
Yeah, during most of the beta period, we were still developing Audition CS5.5, so we couldn't really talk (with specifics) about what was in and what wasn't in. So that's why some of the posts might not be as helpful.
BTW, many of us listed on this forum as "Employee" are the ones who are actually on the product team and not necessarily forum moderators (or mods as you say). So just know that we're here, and we're listening to you all.
This document should help:
"Adobe Audition 3.0 features replaced or not implemented in CS5.5"
Thanks, Todd and Charles! I have a question regarding im- and export of AAC (MP4) files. I noticed in the Mac beta that this was possible. Will this also be available natively in the Windows version, or do I have to install QuickTime for Windows (especially on Win XP) or some plug-in?
Thanks,
Chris
For AAC import on Windows, you'll need to install QuickTime for AAC import.
Note that QuickTime does not support HE ACC v2. However, you can do your transcoding through Adobe Media Encoder (comes with CS5.5 Production Premium and CS5.5 Master Collection) to take advantage of the latest AAC formats.
