Getting Domain Default Page by Parallels Plesk when trying to connect

When I set up a new connection to my website using the FTP info provided by my site admin, instead of seeing my website to edit I get a "Domain Default" page generated by Parallels Plesk Panel. It says that I see this page because I have set up my web server for serving a new site but have not uploaded the new site content yet.

I have double checked the FTP info (id, password, path) with my administrator. Any thoughts as to what I'm missing?

I discovered the answer: Rather than putting the FTP server as ftp.abcdefg.com I put it as ftp://ftp.abcdefg.com and that worked...I was able to connect.
