Hi,

I am new to Illustrator, and have problem drawing these shapes in 16px by 16px:

As you can see below, the shapes for both plus and diamond are not in best quality. especially the line looks dotted and gray.
How to draw these shapes: square, diamond, plus sign using photoshop-cross.png How to draw these shapes: square, diamond, plus sign using photoshop-diamond.png How to draw these shapes: square, diamond, plus sign using photoshop-square.png

Below is information for each shape:

1) square: 1 px border in black, white colour within the area of the square.
2) diamond: 1 px border in black, white colour within the area of the diamond, the rest is transparent.
3)plus sign, 1 px border in black, white colour within the area of the  diamond, about 2 pixels wide for the white area, the rest is  transparent.

Could anyone help me with this. It would be very much appreciated If a illustrator file can be provided (via sendspace.com). Ideally, when it is zoomed in to 120%, the  shape does NOT blur.

Thanks in advance!!!

..... If a illustrator file can be provided (via sendspace.com).

Yeah, sure.. I'll get right on that.

These are exceptionally simple items to create in Illustrator. You may simply try downloading the 30 Day Trial and create what you need on your own.

Kingofwebguru,

Simple ways with simple means (to require less effort (including learning) may be, using the Rectangle Tool:

1) Create a rectangle with width and height as one of the two that forms the cross, copy it, Object>Transform>Rotate the copy 90 degrees, select both, and Pathfinder>Unite;

2) Create a rectangle and Object>Transform>Rotate it 45 degrees;

3) Create a rectangle.

Apply stroke weight and colour(s) as desired.

That's not going to happen.

Slanted lines will always be drawn blurred in Illustrator, because your screen pixels form a rectangular grid. Only if you export to a bitmap file, you can "remove" any blurriness, but at the expense of the overall visual quality.

.. And (I almost forgot) of course zooming in to 120% on a slanted line will not make it look any better than at 100%. Or at 500%, for that matter.
