Freehand --> CS5 upgrade eligibility?

Mar 28, 2010 2:50 PM

You can upgrade from Freehand 9, 10, or MX to Illustrator CS4. Will all of these also be eligible for an upgrade to CS5?

I know that Illustrator CS, CS2, and CS3 are eligible for the CS4 upgrade, but that CS won't be eligible for the CS5 upgrade. So it wouldn't surprise me if Freehand 9 is dropped from upgrade eligibility, but I suspect it really depends on the terms of Adobe's purchase of Macromedia, about which I know just about nothing.

    thm,

    I am afraid everyone will have to wait for the terms to appear; the CS4>CS5 grace period question has not been answered either.

    I am going to guess they will give this one more chance for FH users to migrate but I would think this would be the last chance except for MX which might make it to the next upgrade.

    But we will know without speculation on April 12 when adobe will make an announcement abut the release date and talk about the 64 bit engine running the creative suites.And what that means for the users.

    Isn't it interesting how Freehand MX weighs in at 34mb while Illustrator CS5 is more like 1.4GB?
