Hi Chris
I had the same problems with the Flash Player 10.3 as described in this forum.
So I uninstalled the Flash Player 10.3 again, updated the Intel HD Graphics driver first to version 8.15.10.2361 and reinstalled the Flash Player version 10.3.181.14 again. And now everything is fine, no more problems with Flash Player 10.3.
Chris and all the other in this forum, thank you very much for your help.

In case you (Adobe staff) are still looking for information and status reports that may help in solving this issue, here is what I have encountered:
My mother was actually the one to start experiencing this problem, and asked me to come look it over for her. We both had IE9, and the same versions of Adobe Flash and everything else. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why she was having this issue and I wasn't. Turns out, our hardware differences are the cause. You mentioned that this happens with Intel HD graphics, which is exactly what she has in this computer. My computer has a higher end hardware set, and I don't have this problem. The symptoms I've seen on here are just like those described by others; flash-based ads, menus, video screens etc. would all move to the upper left corner and I couldn't interact with them.
Luckily my searches finally led me to this forum post. Based on your advise, I tried to update her drivers for the Intel HD Graphics. When I downloaded the version you suggest above, directly from the Intel website, it said a later version was already installed on this computer. So, it would seem that at least in some cases, this issue does persist, even with Intel HD Graphics version 8.15.10.2361 or later.
However, I then tried your other suggestion, and checked the "use software rendering instead of GPU rendering" box in IE9's accelerated graphics menu. That has solved the problem for now, so it would seem you guys are on the right track. Thanks for the help! I hope this information is useful. ![]()

What was the version number that was already installed?
Since my computer is brand new, I assume that I have the latest update for the graphic card & don't want to play around with it. But as I posted earlier, disabling the hardware acceleration in IE resolved the problem. However, I definitely notice that IE is slower since I did that. I guess I'll have to leave it that way until there is a permanent fix for FP. Does anyone know how that is coming along?
Actually, it would seem I was wrong. When I tried to install the latest driver last night, the wizard told me a later version was already installed. I don't remember the entire number sequence, but it said something about having version 8.8..... something. However, in an attempt to respond to Carl with the exact number, I got back on my mother's computer, and figured out how to open the Intel graphics properties window, and load up the information tab, where it says the currently installed version is 8.15.10.2279. I wonder why the wizard would detect a later version, which apparently doesn't exist? Hmm... I guess I'll try getting that latest version from their website again. I'll post again once it's installed and see if the Flash problems persist with the latest drivers and accelerated graphics.
UPDATE -- Ok, this time when I tried to install the drivers, an error message popped up saying, "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer. Setup will exit." So I guess HP computers (my mom's is an HP pavilion G17 series notebook, about a month old) are among the ones that Chris mentioned above, where the Intel drivers have to be obtained from HP themselves. Oh well, turning off the accelerated graphics works for now.

The generic Intel graphics driver will not install if there is any OEM graphics driver installed. Though the driver is 5 months old(1/7/2011), it is probably the latest OEM driver you will find for this computer. With the computer still in warranty, you will have to think twice before uninstalling the OEM graphics driver and installing a generic graphics driver.
For those following along, I've updated the initial post with the following solution:
"A pre-release Flash Player to address this issue is now available for testing. We are very interested in hearing you feedback concerning this possible fix. If you should encounter any new issues please report these through our Adobe Flash Player Bug Management System. Please review the instructions on this page for details on generating the information we’ll need for further investigation.
Download Flash Player 10.3.181.15 Update
Important: Please note that this build is for testing and feedback purposes only and is not a full Flash Player release. By installing this binary you accept the terms of the Adobe Software License Agreement."
After installing the new version, please re-enable your hardware acceleration in IE9 if you had previously disabled it. We'd like to know if this solves the problem for you, after trying it out please let us know.
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks for the info Carl. I'm pretty darn good with computers, but I wasn't aware that an OEM graphics driver set would block out generic ones. That's useful stuff to know, and I always love to get a new tidbit of tech info stuffed into my brain. ![]()
Nitesgold, I've already done just that, and it did indeed fix the problem. I was simply trying a different fix so that I could provide my results to Adobe, for informational purposes. Thanks for trying to help though.
Hi
I was having problems with the adverts in hotmail and they were covering the folders on the left hand side whereas normally they are on the right and aren't a problem.
After much annoyance I stumbled across this thread and just tried solution 2 and it appears to have worked. I am running Windows 7 and IE9.
Thanks for the temporary solution!!
I have an ASUS U41JF. I am experiencing problems with Flash on both IE9 and Firefox 4.0.1.
I have the latest Intel HD drivers (8.15.10.2361) and also applied the 10.3 beta patch that you released today; however there is no improvement: I still can't watch fullscreen videos - my screen goes black.

Chris,
I just wanted to report that the test file you sent me by email last Friday, has been working fine.
Is there any good reason for me to download and install the new test version (10.3.181.15) or should I stay with the version you sent me?
Thanks,
Gary
They are slightly different, but since the version I sent you is working you might want to just stick with it till our official release is out.
Thanks,
Chris

Ok, this sounds like a different issue. Could you report this through our Adobe Flash Player Bug Management System. Please review the instructions on this page for details on generating the information we’ll need for further investigation.
If you haven't already, I'd also suggest disabling hardware acceleration using Step 1 on this page.
Thanks,
Chris

Will do, Chris. I'll sit tight until the official release. Thanks!![]()
Test build installed. Upon page load there is a brief display of the flash content in the top-left corner, but then it displays in the correct location. Upon scrolling down pages, the first time the flash content is rendered it also displays briefly in the top-left corner, but then displays in the correct location.

Although, everone else is referring to IE 9 when discussing their problems, I have the same problem but I am using IE 8 on a computer with OS Windows XP Pro and I have updated the drivers on my Nvidia Geo 6800. I did not have any problems until I updated to the 10.3 version Flash Player.
What kind of problems did you start seeing with 10.3?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi, have tried solutions & none r working......any ideas please? xx
Thank you for testing out the new version of Flash Player. I'm sorry it's not working as well as we'd hoped for you. To help us investigate further could you please provide us with the following information?
1. Verify that you've cleared your browser cache and restarted the browser.
2. Please provide a short description of the problem. Any screenshots / video you can provide would help greatly. Are you seeing the Flash problems after coming out of a full screen mode?
3. Please include a copy of your dxdiag report. For details on generating this file please see this document.
4. Please include an exact URL where the problem exists.
5. Please navigate to this page and click the "Copy text to clipboard" button, then paste the contents into your reply. This will provide us with the Flash Player version along with your browser information.
Please feel free to reply here or you can email me directly at ccampbel@adobe.com
Thanks,
Chris
Hi,
I have been runnning Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit and IE9 on a HP 2740p Tablet.
The flashing ads not only appeared on Hotmail, but also on News Websites. Some flash based food ordering sites here in NZ showed some funky behaviour in terms of not being able to click on any buttons/links because the mouse clicks were a bit off the buttons.
I have used "Solution 1" updating the Intel HD Graphics drivers. Unfortunately the Intel side doesnt allow me to install version 8.15.10.2361 but refers me to the HP driver download site, which only offers version 8.15.10.2302, which was still higher than my installed version.
I have then used "Solution 3" downloading the Flash Player 10.3.181.15 Update.
At first it didnt make any difference. Ads were still flashing wildly across the screen.
It was only today (maybe after restarting my machine) that all the issues have disappeared and it's all good now. :-)
Cheers, Rainer
Hi I installed this last night and it was an instant fix...yay! able to play my game. However I logged on this morning and got the problems again so I had to redownload it and install. Is this something I have to do until the real problem is fixed, I really regret allowing my explorer update to version 9...nothing but trouble!
Thanks
I went to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/(remove check mark from) Use Software Rendering instead of GPU Rendering.
It slows things down somewhat, but it's much better than having all that flickering on your screen & not being able to see anything with Flash Player. I won't fool around with anything else. At least it's a temporary fix.
Chris,
For me, the problem started as soon as I opened Internet Explorer. Things were constantly flashing in the upper left corner of my screen. And any program that needed the flash player didn't work. Only little bits & pieces of the program were moving around my screen.
I'm just wondering.... weren't these problems evident before the new version of Flashplayer was released?
The work around has worked for my Toshiba Satellite L650. Toshiba were of no help in me trying get an update to the Intel HD driver. They kept refering me the Currys (who sold me the laptop) and Intel. Intel system said the driver was adapted by Toshiba and so their download would not work. However, the fix is running well with the old (current) driver active. Thanks Adobe.

Hey Chris, or anybody -
Installed the FP 10.3.181.15, cleared browser history, Uninstalled, reinstalled, manually deleted the SafeVersions key in Registry Editor Chris gave in other posting but still getting warnings that content requires update to Flash Player.
???

Hi Safari Dave,
I'd like to get to the bottom of this. Is there a particular page that causes this error to appear? Can you post a URL? I'm going to ask around and see what exactly is doing the version check.
Thanks,
Chris
