What does this mean. I was able to download a book last week and now I get this error. Does it have anything to do with the latest Firefox version?

Yep it was the computer date/time that was not correct. Once that was corrected everything worked perfectly.

I am having the same problem. My clock time and date are correct, and I am still having issues authorizing my computer. I opened up a webcase, but that was useless. What else should I do?

As I have said before, it's not just your computer's time, time zone and

date.  Your ereader has to be in sync also.  Make sure that your ereader's

time, time zone (if any) and date are the same as your computer's.

I don't even have my ereader yet (it is on the way), and I still cannot activate ADE. How else can I troubleshoot this error message? I have checked the time/date/timezone, uninstalled/re-installed, and from multiple servers.

    Please advise!

Hey I hope this is helpful.

I had the same problem but turns out that even tho my time was right, the time zone wasnt. I live in WA and I had mountain time zone because when I was in pacifc(the actually time zone for WA) the time was wrong. So I had to change it and add an hour.

Sorry Im not good with this tech stuff but I hope you get it to work.

I also have this problem and have reset my computer and reader time/zone/date to match but still getting the error message. Feeling totally helpless, what a mess! Am thinking of uninstalling Digital Editions and trying to start all over again?

I too am getting this problem. I have reset my computer and my e-reader, still no joy. Surely there is a computer wizard out there that can sort this in seconds???

I read the entire thread before I decided to try to help.  I'm not sure

from reading the latest posts whether we're talking about an issue in

downloading and installing ADE itself, downloading an ebook or downloading

a library book, or trying to do a transfer between your computer and your

ereader....  So, let me try to tackle the subject by making some

assumptions about what's not working.  That's dangerous, so please don't

shoot the messenger.  Also, please try to keep in mind that Adobe hasn't

written the best error message texts, so there's a bit of wiggle room in

    interpreting what's wrong.

ADE software should not need to be reinstalled - it's not going to help

because the error relates to the clock, not something in the software.

For starters, check your computer's date, time and time zone AND whether

the 'daylight savings time' feature is enabled for your time zone.  This

    applies in all cases.

Next, look at your ereader and determine whether it has similar settings

for date, time zone, time and daylight savings.  If it has any of these,

make sure they're set the same as your computer.

A library ebook can cause a problem like this because of the day, time and

date on the library's system but that's really rare.

    Hope this helps!

Here is what I did on my PC.

Set the time using the "Automatically synchronize with Internet time server"

    Apply

    Still saw the error

    Redownloaded the ebook

with a macs after trying all, set the time to "Set date and time automaticlly" and it works . . . Adobe needs to state this requirement in their instructions.
