Flash Player green screen.

Jun 9, 2011 11:38 PM

Hi there,

I have an issue with my flashplayer on Mozilla :

- Hardware Acceleration enabled.

- Green screen upon loading any video.

- When I toggle full screen, green screen go off and the video plays normally.

So my point here is : can I remove the green screen automatically ? Without full screen/back to normal size ?

Thank you.

Edit : I have the right drivers for my graphic card, just checked them.

Oh, and when I load a video, my computer freezes for like 3sec.

Yes, when I disable Hardware Acceleration everything is normal.

And if you disable Hardware Acceleration?

Hi, Pat will need to know what Operating System you are using and if it's a 64bit or 32bit system. Also browsers used and version numbers.

Also it would be helpful to know what websites you experience this with too.

Pat won't be back on the Forum until later this evening, so if you can post that info it would speed things up.

    Thanks,

Hardware Acceleration is fine if your video adapter and its device driver fully supports it.

Do you have the latest driver installed?

I assume that I can use the Hardware Acceleration, because everything was working fine like 1 month ago.

Your hardware may not have been supported by that version of Flash Player.  It would not have used Hardware Acceleration at the time.

Now with the newest Flash Player version your hardware may be supported, but the hardware & drivers may not handle it correctly.

So until you have better drivers installed, you may just need to disable HA.

I have the same issue. I just updated my AMD drivers to the latest (which are beta drivers) and now I have green video with hardware acceleration enabled. Turning it off fixes it, for now. The processing speed isn't the issue, but the video playback quality isn't as good with software.

    System: Phenom II 1090T / Radeon 4870

Could everyone running into the green screen issue please post their dxdiag files for us to take a look at?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Done via bug interface. #3288931

Edit: updating to latest player fixed the issue
