Is there the capability of including legitimate footnotes in a Dreamweaver page? By that I mean where the superscripted number automatically updates when another footnote is added above it on the page, and where the footnote reference automatically goes to the bottom of the page? If not, how can one kluge the same effect and what are the limitations? Thanks. jim
There is a script for doing this (like wikipedia) at the following link:

I just want to mention that while footnotes have a legitimate place in printed articles and manuscripts, they are seldom found on web pages. The customary practice is to use <cite> tags for citations and hyperlinks to relevant web sources.

370H55V, now I have spent time looking at Wikipedia Footnote Popup Script. I still like the functionality of it but am clueless on how to proceed. I have downloaded the two javascript attachments – I assume that is what .js means.
They look very similar, perhaps identical. Is this correct?
What do I do with them? Do I copy and paste into the .css? Into the .htm page? Or something else?
How do I then enter the superscript in the .htm text section?
How does Greasemonkey fit into all of this?
Does the Site visitor have to do anything, other than run his cursor over the superscripted item? Do they have to install anything. Or anything else?
Do you know which browsers they will work with? Apparently not with IE8. With IE9? IE7? Others? It looks like Firefox should be no problem as well as Chrome.
Is this too much to ask?
Thanks.
