Cutting pictures from scanner

Guys

 

I had to scan a few old pictures and put 4 of them on the scanner bed. Is there any automated software that will recognize 4 pictures inside a single file, do the cropping output 4 of them? Or any function in Photoshop?

Lastly, I don't expect any loss of resolution from this process whether it's automated or manually. Am I right?

    In Photoshop go to the File menu:

     

    File > Automate > Crop and Straighten Photos

     

    No loss of quality as long as you're working with non-lossy files such as PSD, PSB, Tiff, etc.  JPEGs are lossy and degrade every single time you save or re-save them.
