Aja, BlackMagic, Matrox, NVidia... someone else?
All of them?
With whom will Adobe choose to collaborate to achieve
fully native sequence and media capture settings that
will incorporate the advantages of add-on hardware
into an entirely Adobe native workflow?
I don't think there's any way around it now.
A hopeful post from the SDK Forum:
"Although I'm not in a position to discuss future, unannounced products, in broad terms we are working on some substantial improvements so that hardware partners provide even higher quality integration. Rest assured that the team is actively working to improve hardware integration for professional workflows."
My vote is for "None of them".
I don't want Adobe patterning with anyone on this. I want it to work with any graphics card that meets minimum specs and has the appropriate video connection - composite, S-Video, component, HDMI, whatever. Proper monitoring, with hardware acceleration, needs to work for all PP sequences, all native media, and any GPU that meets specs.
For those who need connections not commonly found on a graphics card, HD-SDI for example, it's fine for third parties like AJA and BlackMagic to provide that hardware connection, but what those companies provide should be no more than a hardware connection. No special codecs, presets or drivers needed.
That is the proper target for future development.

Why not? Do you object to the Adobe / nVidia / MPE partnership?

This is exactly the point.
Right now, nothing like that exists.
This piece of $7,000 hardware was suggested in an earlier discussion,
but as you pointed out, it is not a real solution for Premiere.

I agree... but this target will have to include I/O hardware that will
accommodate composite, S-Video, component, HDMI and HD-SDI.
Someone's going to do it. I hope it's soon. Firewire is DOA.
