Error at running MRA-Configuration. Following progress wasn't possible. (translated from german)

Jun 6, 2011 9:22 AM

Hi, I installed Solution Accelerators. But unfortunatelly I got a error while configurationManager at Step "Managed Review & Approval Solution Accelerator configure".

Its german: "Fehler beim Ausführen der MRA-Konfiguration. Folgender Vorgang war nicht möglich:"

Translated: "Error at running MRA-Configuration. Following progress wasn't possible:"

But it doesn't tell me which progress wasn't possible in that window.

Here is the log LaunchLCM.log:

    Hi,

Can you please connect to server using workbench and check the status of

    ReviewCommentingAndApprovalComponent?

Also please try starting the component from there.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Please ensure you have mysql-connector-java-5.1.6-bin.jar present in JBOSS_HOME/server/SERVER_NAME/lib folder. If you don't please add it.

    Thanks,

    Ankit N

The said Exception class (com.mysql.jdbc.integration.jboss.ExtendedMysqlExceptionSorter) is present in mysql-connector-java-5.1.6-bin.jar.

Is it a turnkey install? I guess not. Are you using server lc_mysql? A turnkey installation names the server lc_turnkey.

Could you please verify that you do not see an entry in server.log (you'll see it at the start of server.log when server starts) which looks like:

    2011-06-08 11:25:02,737 INFO  [org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.ConnectionFactoryBindingService ] Bound ConnectionManager 'jboss.jca:service=DataSourceBinding,name=AdobeDefaultSA_DS' to JNDI name 'java:AdobeDefaultSA_DS'

This will ensure that AdobeDefaultSA_DS isn't configured correctly. MRA expects a datasource AdobeDefaultSA_DS be present before its DSCs are installed. If it's a non turnkey install, you'll have to configure this manually. Other option is to do a turnkey install from scratch.

    Thanks,

    Ankit

Thats new. Well, if the LCM install isn't working for you, you can try installing MRA manually. Follow below steps:

    1. Login to Workbench. Open components view. Right cick Components and install and start the below mentioned DSC (in order):

         a. adobe-rca-core-services-dsc.jar

         b. adobe-rca-reviewzoneprovider-dsc.jar

    2. Go to adminui and install below LCAs (in order):

         a. adobe-rca-reviewcommentingandapproval.lca

         b. adobe-mra-managedreviewandapproval.lca

         c. adobe-mra-managedreviewandapproval-sample.lca

    3. Install below ear in JBOSS_HOME/server/lc_mysql/deploy

         a. adobe-mra-managedreviewandapproval.ear

Run LCM and this time select checkbox for Configuring MRA Solution Accelerator only. It'll take you directly to MRA configuraiton wizzard. Continue with LCM from there on.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Ankit

Please send across the server.log file to me (ankitn [at] adobe [dot] com). I'm interested in seeing the logs generated when DSC install/start is attempted.

    Thanks,

    Ankit

I am having the same problem .. did you get a resolution.

It looks like the database has not been bootstrapped with the MRA Tables.

Is there a way to do this manually?

    Hi,

Just letting you know I managed to get this installed. This was a Testing environment.

I needed to create a new adobe schema in the MySQL database (called "adobe1").  I redirected the IDP_DS and EDC_DS database settings (in the JBoss deploy folder) to the new database

I then re-ran Configuration Manager, from the Database Initialisation step.  This time it created the entire MRA schema, and deployed all components successfully.

Once Completed, I reset the database connections back to the original adobe schema and restart.

This looks like a bug in the Configuration Manager, that it does not take into account the creation of the database schema if you are addition the Solution Accelerator to an existing installation.

There may be some other way to get around this that is not documented (i.e. initiate the MRA database schema via a command line).  If anybody knows of this, please post.

    Hi Floh

It's pretty easy - Download the MySQL Client GUI Tools, and connect to the MySQL instance installed by the Turnkey installation.

The connection settings are in the *.ds.xml within the Jboss deploy folder.  Login as root - you should have the password that you used with the Livecycle installl

As root, you can create a new instance (actually you are creating a new schema).

Make sure you update the connection settings in the JBoss deploy folder for the new instance.

    Thanks
