Cutting and Pasting in Tables

Jun 8, 2011 10:37 AM

I have grown accustomed to using tables more frequently in InDesign. Oftentimes I need to move rows either up or down in the table.

When cutting an entire row or rows from the table, it would be nice if you could then just paste the cut row(s) back into the table without first having to insert  the same number of blank row(s).

For instance: you could highlight a particular row, then when pasting, you would be prompted to either paste the row(s) above or below the highlighted row.

This feature would certainly improve productivity.

You could write a 2-line script to do this... at least for a single line. Not sure if you can easily find out the number of lines currently in the clipboard.

I'd love to see it without needing a script.

Anything that would make working in tables more user friendly would be a good thing.
