How to intercept document activity

Each time a Rights Managed PDF document is open this activity information is sent to the Adobe LiveCycle server and updates the database, is there a way we can intercept or catch this type of document activity in real time via an API call or through an orchestration without LiveCycle Reader Extension Server

Yes, and no. Let me explain: Up until LiveCycle 7 there used to be the option of registering an event listener to react to incoming events. For some mysterious reasons, Adobe decided to remove the listening facilities in LiveCycle 8+ and replace it with an event search facility.
