Android force closes when I'm logged in online

Aug 13, 2011 11:58 AM

Photoshop express moble app for android force closes when I'm logged in online.  App works fine for phone gallery and editing.  But when I'm logged in and open the app it force closes.  I'm using the Motorola Droid.  Thanks.

    Try this:

    1)      Go into device Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Photoshop Express

    2)      Force-stop the app if it’s running.

    3)      Clear cache, and then Clear data

    4)      Relaunch the app

I've run into this myself, and this (or a complete reinstall) worked.

First, thanks for taking the time to report your problem here, so we can try to help.  Though I can't reproduce the issue on three different Android test device I have, I logged a bug for developers to investigate this.

Mark gave you the same troubleshooting advice I would have suggested myself.  Also, inside the app's Settings, there are a few other things I hope you can try:

-- "Clear the image cache" (this really should be the same thing you did in the device main Settings > Applications > Manage applications)

-- "Reset Preferences" (this should have been done when you uninstalled / reinstalled the app). Do Log Out/In again.

If this still doesn't allow you to use Photoshop Express online, let me ask -- are you able to upload to facebook or twitter?

Does this happen if you log into another Photoshop Express account?

Can you share some specific details about your device: specific model / Android OS version / carrier

Thanks for any info you can provide--it may help us validate and resolve an issue potentially affecting other users.

Thanks for replying with that detail.  I can't yet explain why a new account would work better for you vs an old one, especially since you mentioned you cleared app cache and data via device Settings.  If there was something local on your device that was corrupt, clearing those things we discussed already should have helped.  I'm starting to wonder if there's a server side issue with your account.  I'll send you a private message asking for account details best left off the public thread.

    Thanks,

    Charlie
