Photoshop to Flash

Aug 20, 2011 9:59 AM

I am looking for best practice of integrating photoshop layers to flash?

Yea I know it sounds simple but I had a client for a banner ad and I don't have much experience with banners. I am not sure whether it was poor photoshop work by them or bad integration on my end because once I imported the psd into flash some of the images didn't come out as well. Seems simple that it should just grab the layer in photoshop the way it looks instead of having some of the background attached to the image.

This caused a headache and I switched to cropping each image I was going to use in photoshop and making a png transparent image for each. Very time consuming and I ended up wasting a lot of time. I'm wondering is the integrated photoshop to flash just hype or is there an easy way to grab just that image layer in photoshop without having to worry about any bleeding? Looks so easy on the videos.

what you can do is simple import the PSD from FLash itself. It should open a dialog box that will then prompt you to select which PSD layers you'd like to import into the new Flash document. Once you select them it brings them in on layers that you can then manipulate just as if you had created the Artwork from within Flash.

From there just animate the art as need. hit publish and your good to go

let me know if you need any further help.

    Regards
