Can't install flash 10.3 in IE/Firefox

Hi,

I'm trying to install flash 10.3 in IE 8/Firefox 3.6 and both give an error:

"A required file (c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\flashutil10v_activex.exe:5) could not be written due to insufficient permissions."

Help is needed...

Tks Vishal, but that's the executable that's online at adobe website, which i've already tried.

- More, i've also downloaded archived versions and error persists for the corresponding file of which version. With an uninstall/reboot/order order;

- Also tried using SUBINACL with RESET_FP10 from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html, and nothing.

After you run the uninstaller, what files do you have in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?

If there are still any files left, try to delete them manually.  Make sure no browser or messenger application is running during the uninstall/install.

If you still get the error when trying to reinstall, please list the contents of the FlashInstall.log file in the install folder.

After running successfully 'uninstall_flashplayer10_3r183_5_win.exe', 'FlashInstall.log' was the file that stayed in 'C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash':

Did a reboot and run 'flashplayer10_3r183_5_winax.exe' which gave the same error "A required file (c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\flashutil10v_activex.exe:5) could not be written due to insufficient permissions."

Have you tried uninstalling, deleting the Flash folder, then installing?

. Deactivate Mcafee;

. Install with no problems.
