Convert supported files from email attachments?

The CreatePDF app description states

  • "Convert supported files from email attachments, the cloud applications or a variety of other applications by sending these to Adobe CreatePDF using 'Open In'"
  • "Supported File Formats include: Images - JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF, TIFF"

 

These statements make me believe I should be able to convert a JPEG attachment in an email (or the entire email with the attachment) to a PDF.  But on my iPhone, I cannot see any way to actually do this.  What is the deal?

    Hi tomscheifler,

     

    you are right. I also cannot convert an image attached to a mail into pdf with the app.

     

    I have broken my head: For what purpose should I need this? Can you help me?

    Since I cannot go straight to the Photo app and select an image to CreatePDF, I thought this might be a workaround.  But either I have misunderstood the statements of the CreatePDF app or the statements are not accurate.

    But what do you want to do with an image converted into pdf-file? Help me!

     

    For what reason do you want to do this? Have I overseen something?

    PS.: The description of the app is not correct concerning "jpg" in e-mail.....

    Ah. That.

     

    I am working on an expense report application.  I want to give users a way to (easily):

    • take one or more pictures of a receipt (some receipts are multiple pages)
    • create a single pdf using the image(s) for a receipt
    • email the pdf to an address for automatic processing

     

    It seemed like something titled "CreatePDF" made by Adobe would have no problem doing this easily without any additional app.  But it seems not.

     

    I suppose I will have to move on to something like Genius Scan

    Please refer to Adobe CreatePDF FAQ posted here - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/899561?tstart=0. It points to some of the problems that you might be facing, reasons behind them and some recommended solutions.
