Action Script 3 Code to Play and stop an external Fla or Swf file using Play,Stop Button,in,FLA File

Sep 12, 2011 6:26 AM

Thank you for all the answers given before.

I humbly need an Action Script 3 code for playing and stopping an external Fla or Swf file using Play or Stop button in Parent Fla or Swf File,

I should have the ability to come back to the Parent Fla file from external file using button.

For example: I have "Intorduction" Fla  which has a Button to Play an external Fla called "set up"

And in the "set up" Fla there is a Button to Play "Intoduction" Fla.

Regards,

God Bless You

the eaiest way is to use the content property of your loader (cast as a movieclip or sprite) to reference the main timeline in the loaded swf and to use parent.parent to reference the timeliine containing your loader (assuming it's been added) again cast as the appropriate object.

    Hey kglad,

Any interest in writing up a CPS or Cookbook recipe for this? Something like "communicating between an external loaded SWF and its parent SWF"? Seems like a lot fo people would appreciate it.

You can do one or the other. Doing both would be redundant. CPS is our Community Publishing System that lets users create content that lives permanently on adobe.com and accessible via search or the CPS home page.

    CPS Home page: http://www.adobe.com/community/publishing/

More about CPS and where to download the CPS editor app (AIR): http://www.adobe.com/community/publishing/download.html

Let me know which you'd rather use. And let me know any help I can provide. And yes, just contact me whenever you're ready.
