I'm trying edit the files in a 1k or 2k timeline and I would like to finish in After Effects using the original 5K files. This is following Adobe's recommended work flow for RED files.
You used to be able to change the R3D source settings to 1/2 or 1/4 resolution for R1 files, but I'm not seeing this option when I bring up the source settings with the Epic Files.
Any ideas how I can do this?
Thanks. Yeah I know you can transcode using RedCineX, but you used to be able to change the Resolution in the Decode Settings within the Source settings for the R3Ds.
Seems like a step backwards for 5.5 since CS4 gave you this option.
It's not A dobe. It's the red epic files. They are a different Codec than the other red files and they aren't compatible with anything. Adobe just developed a work around so
can view them. I don't think they were meant to be edited in 5K. Are you doing a feature? If not why not trascode to pro res or somethimg?
Yes I understand they are different. I guess I just assumed that Adobe would have come up with a similar solution, would seem to make sense. I am editing a feature so a workflow like this would be preferable. Well, back to the drawing board.
