Slideshow playing videos - or workaround?

Hi there,

 

another question :-)

I want to create a slideshow. On the left side I have 3 thumbs for selection. On the right side I have space for my videos.

What I want to do:

When I click on thumb #1 I want to play video#1, when I click thumb#2 I want to play video#2, etc.

I tried this with a MSO but it didn't worked. Is there another way to realise this? Any ideas?

    Create three identical (except for the videos) pages and link to them.

    Unfortunately I can't use this workaround, because you can see the pages in the overview.

    Or is there a way to hide pages?

     

    Another wy (but didn't worked, too): I used html content in the slideshow....but I think stacking MSO are impossible in this version...right?

    Is there a chance to get stackable MSOs in the next update?

    A short question: does the ADPS support html5?

    I tried to solve my problem with html/css/javascript, but the <video>-tag doesn't work.

    Yes, you can create html overlays and html articles.

    I know that, but i used the html5 video-tag and it didn't worked...

    Well, normally it should work. But if you try to superimpose 3 different movies, each started by a button, then your css and js have to be more elaborated. I am not a html guru myself, my son says, that you should use absolute positioning and create a script which would change z-index of the placed movies. If the movies were not in the same place, then you would not need that script.

    Ok thanks, I will try that. I Created my slideshow with javascript, css and html. But I still have these weird problems with the videos -.-

    Another little question ;-)

    Everything works fine now...as long as I try it in firefox and chrome. When I integrate the html+css+js+videos in the InDesign document and upload it to view on my iPad, the videos don't start to play. I used swf files, because I dont want to have any controls. Can I use swf? Or is that, where my mistake is?

    No, you can't.

    You should use .mp4 or .m4v movies encoded with h264.

    Tomasz is correct.

     

    The iPad doesn't support flash so you can't use .swf or .f4v.

    Well, the content viewer is an Adobe Air application. Thought, that in this case, I can use swf :-(

    Is there a way to include the mp4 files in html without any controls?
