The "scan a complex device with internal moving parts with a hand scanner" and reproduce it part is clearly BS. The problem isn't with the printing technology, but the scanning technology shown. On the other hand, an MRI or Cat Scan could conceivably do the job.
If you look at the very last frame of the video, you can see that the printed crescent wrench is clearly physically different from the original, so it's obvious they worked to pull a little something over on us in the video.
That said, it doesn't diminish the wow factor of the actual printing process much.
