Custom Importer Support in AE

Hi All,

 

I have a quick question. Does Premiere Pro custom importers and synthetic importers are  supported by After Effects CS4? I noticed that imInit, imShutdown and imGetPrefs8 are not invoked by AE.

    As I understand it Premiere can take After Effect plugins (.aex). AE can't take PPro plugins (.prm).

    Thanks for your reply. I know that Premiere file importer plug-ins are supported in AE but Premiere effects are not supported. What I am not sure is - support for Synthetic Importers.

    Hi Chandan,

     

    You are correct, standard importers built using the PPro SDK are supported in AE, but synthetic importers and custom importers are not.
