Sharing folios through Distribution service?

Sep 28, 2011 2:56 AM

I need to share a folio with a number of employees. This wasn't an issue last week but this week it seems folios with HTMLResources.zip files added will not donwload into content viewer from the Acrobat servers and display an error message shortly after the the free folio is actioned to download. To get around this I simply published it through the distribution service, set to private initially, and I was able to download the whole thing (and without sash) with no problems.  Is it possible to get the distribution copy of the folio to other peoples content viewers without having to sign in on every one as me?

Share functionality is, in my opinion, working only for the content that is at acrobat.com phase. Distribution Service is dediaceted to open distribution to customize viewers through releveant 'store'.

Going through the Distro Service was only a workaround for the root problem of not being able to download folios to the iPad CV that have HTMLResources.zip files attached to them, by following normal procedures. (see the original thread here)

This hasnt been (to my knowledge) addressed.

    Perhaps one of the Bobs...?

The html resources.zip is a bug we are working on fixing.

Private publishing requires that the user log in with the same credentials as the person that published. So, no...there is no way to share without handing out the credentials.

    Thanks John!

    Any ETA?

    Christian:

Sounds like youre working with HTML articles as I am. What Ive done in order to share with clients is upload my HTML files to my Web server and had the clients preview in Mobile Safari. Its not exactly the same, but it gives a general idea...

Sorry, what is the best way to sharing a folio (that is update every 2/4 days) with other 2 designers/editors and also with a client?

The client should see only the final result on ipad at every update. This work could have a long development for the zero number (30-40 days - is there a time limit for private publishing?)

1- the designers should login with the same adobe id? It's necessary.

2- to show the preview to the client the better solution is private publishing? (updated every xx days).

It could be a problem if the customer use the same login of the designers (but this is required for private publishing...).

What is the best and simple solution to work in a young-poor international team?

    Many thanks.

Create 2 folios from the same files.

Share one amongst the designers and one for the client. Update the client app at appropriate times.

    Great Bob. Many thanks.

Update the client app at appropriate times.

Please Bob - Confirm that for the client the best solution is publish a private release? What problem/limitation could we have this solution? And possible alternative?

    Many thanks.
