Jive's latest update to these Adobe forums is driving me bananas!
I keep turning off e-mail notifications -- and it keeps turning them on automatically! I hate getting all these annoying e-mails!!!
Is anyone else as frustrated as I am?

Did you go into your profile and turn off ALL places where email response is listed?

This new JIVE set up is a mess, if I use Firefox I cannot reply to anyone only on Windows Explorer, I have isolated myself by using an alternative e-mail. Many times I use this as light entertainment and I am not as helfull as you are to so many, congratulations.!.
You have been particularly helfull to me over many years and you do not deserve that issue, perhaps you need a holiday ?
Ps. How this worked is anyones guess, just as well all Photoshop and Premiere is working well.

Unfortunately I haven't got it figured out myself, Bob! I turned all notifications off -- even double-checked! -- and, after I left the forum, the e-mail notifications for this very thread turned back on again!!!
I'll keep working on it.
Well your out mail is working , John is probably right, you need to put a
stop even in your profile.

The first day of the new forum I replied to several messages... and started receiving email notices from those message threads
I went to my profile and found there were MANY option boxes to check to turn off email... which I did
I was still receiving email from those messages to which I responded before visiting my profile... and had to go back to each individual message thread and click the option to turn off email for that message thread
Since doing that, I have not received a single email message (hope that statement is not a jinx!)

What!? Are you saying that I now have to go to each of the received notifications (which I've trashed) and go thru such a process for each of that multitude??This is nuts.

It is unfortunate that several (many?) of us were "caught" by the change in settings and posted messages without knowing we had to go to our profiles FIRST to turn off email responses, but I think the behavior of having to go back to those individual message threads and manually turn off email responses is actually a designed behavior
There is therefore nothing to fix, and you are just to go have to track down each message thread where you posted before changing your profile... and manually turn off email replies
Or, of course, empty your junk email folder every time it has a message added
Yes, the resetting of the forums' e-mail notification to ON for all replied threads, is a bit of a pain. At least the new Jive-ware has a little checkbox "All" at the top of the thread list. It will turn things OFF, and if one checks the other areas, where e-mail notifications (two, by my last count, and not in the same place in the Profile), things should get back to "normal."
