I recently updated an Android app I have on the market with AIR3/Captive Runtime so users dont need to download the AIR app to run my app. Everything works great.
The apk/app was previously 5MB and is now 10.2MB and in the market it shows as 10.2MB, no drama, however when I download and install the app on my N1/Gingerbread device from the market it shows the app as being 320kb in Settings/Applications/?? Most native apps appear approx 30% larger on market than device though one native app i notice is 25% larger on device than market. My AIR apps are over 90% smaller once installed on device?
This is a good thing for my AIR3 apps, though I am confused, can anyone explain why this happens and how Android OS measures app size once installed?
Thanks
