Cap 5.5 Scorm Reporting Complete when Failed

Oct 5, 2011 8:40 AM

We are using Captivate 5.5 and SCORM 2004.  (Our LMS is Cornerstone onDemand but we are testing in ScormCloud and see the same thing)

When a user fails an assessment, we need the status to show Incomplete.

I have tried every setting and cannot figure out how to make this happen. (Whether I select Complete/Incomplete or Pass/Fail the result is the same)

ScormCloud Output:

LMS output:

When we use identical settings with SCORM 1.2, there is no problem.

We want to use SCORM 2004 because of the reporting capabilities at the question level that are out of the box in the LMS.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Melody

    Have you seen this document?  http://www.icslearninggroup.com/documents/whitepapers/Tips_and_Tricks_ -_Adobe_Captivate_and_SCORM.pdf

    True it is based on 1.2 but maybe some of the settings it suggests will help.

    In Quiz > Settings: Select Pass Required

    If you don't require a pass to continue, it is reporting exactly what you are asking it to. The student completed the course, they just failed it.

    Alternatively, you can set Pass or Fail > If Failing Grade to: Execute Javascript, and paste

    Captivate_DoFSCommand("LMSSetValue", "incomplete");

    into the script window. (That should work with the default Captivate templates.)
